Outdoor Artificial Turf Installation 6 Tips for a Perfect Lawn
Installing outdoor artificial turf is a convenient solution for beautifying the ground. The overall layout is beautiful, it can be used all year round, and the service life can reach more than 8 years; the cost of later maintenance is low, and dirt can be removed with clean water. It is especially suitable for scenes such as courtyards, roofs, and balconies. The following are detailed installation steps to help you create a beautiful and durable lawn space.
1.Prepare installation tools and materials
Installation tools: measuring instruments, special cutting tools, rubber hammers, sand injection machines, glue brushes, and compaction weights.
Installation materials: artificial turf rolls, special adhesive tapes, environmentally friendly glue, quartz sand, rubber particles, and white border turf.
2.Cleaning the site
First, clean up the open space where artificial turf is needed. Determine the centre point of the site according to the drawings, mark the vertical and horizontal axes, and demarcate the boundaries around it. Arrange the grass rolls in the site in order according to the drawings, overlap 10 cm at the joints, and overlap 5 cm at the seams.
3.Spread the artificial turf
Spread the turf flat and let it stand for 24 hours to eliminate transportation deformation and ensure that the direction of the grass is consistent.
4.Lawn cutting and splicing
Start from the long side of the site and push the joint to the other side. (Note: During the joint process, pay attention to the front and back of the joint tape to ensure the same direction). Then use a special cutting tool to cut the adjacent overlapping parts of the lawn clean up the debris, and make a white border line for standby.
Lay a special adhesive tape on the ground at the joint, apply glue evenly, and align and compact it after it is half dry. The gap between the joints should be controlled within 1-2mm. (Note: If the range is too large, there will be obvious joint marks. Bond the entire green lawn at one time.)
5.Boundary line and site marking
The installation of the white boundary line requires cutting the turf position for inlaying, aligning the grass on both sides, applying glue on the back and pressing the joint (Note: Be sure to apply glue evenly to make it stick together). Then use a heavy object to compact the joint to ensure This is flat and without warping. After this step, carry out the site marking project, strictly locate the marking line according to the drawing size, and cut the turf width ≤3cm
6.Filling with quartz sand and rubber particles
Quartz sand: Use a sand injection machine to spread it at a uniform speed in both directions, and the amount per square meter is controlled according to the design requirements. Use a grass brush to comb the grass to ensure that the sand particles penetrate evenly to the grassroots.
Rubber particle filling: Inject rubber particles on the quartz sand layer for the second time to avoid accumulation. Comb the grass again after filling to ensure surface elasticity and aesthetics.
