1. Client Goals

The Australian hotel’s ambition was to design a magical ocean-themed outdoor play area that acts as a focal point for family guests, increasing playtime, boosting overall holiday fun, and inspiring longer stays and repeat bookings. The goal was to combine high-energy physical activities with underwater and oceanic creature role-play, simulating the sights and sounds, and feeling of the ocean, for kids of all ages, in a relaxing, parent-friendly resort setting.

The challenge was to provide just the right mix of play for a family vacation where excitement and relaxation were equally anticipated by all age groups. The client was also requested to include separate safe areas with soft climbing parts, low entrance barriers and softer components for the smaller children, while the older kids had the chance to get stronger, more co-ordinated, balanced and confident with more exciting elements like tunnel, spiral, straight wave slides, a climbing wall and a net, rope bridges, interactive panels, shark roof decorations and seahorse climbers.

Focus areas included delivering the highest level of play value, making the most of the limited resort space, maintaining a steady circulation flow, and ensuring excellent sightlines throughout the multi-level building for straightforward direction. With durable Ocean Series play products, the designers sought to translate lasting quality and innovation into powerful thematic immersion and broad appeal — encouraging memorable family experiences, positive guest reviews, and enduring growth through return visits.

1. Our Solution

Efficient Layout & Seamless Flow

Adapted from the classic Ocean Series, our Ocean Series multi-level playground takes up hotel space in an efficient, design winsome fashion with bright, bold colors and simple shapes. It is what guides young explorers through this fantastic indoor play structure from gentle lower-level entry points all the way up to exciting upper decks. This configuration maximizes space and minimizes work flow issues in the kitchen. This design prevents traffic jams, increases capacity, and encourages seamless flow of guests. Neutral open sightlines throughout, padded with protective netting, and parent viewing areas guarantee easy supervision on each level.

Zoning adapted to age

Precise age based zoning: Toddlers enjoy safe, low-height elements including gentle climbers, interactive panels, seahorse obstacles; Older kids venture through dynamic tunnels, spiral, straight, and wave slides, climb walls/nets, rope bridges, and shark inspired challenges. This promotes physical development, imaginative sea creature role play and group enjoyment, making this playground a hotel standout.

Greater Safety & Durability

Rounded corners, energy absorbing padding and anti-slip surfaces are present on all areas. Made of high quality, UV/weather proof commercial-grade material, it is easy to clean and requires minimal maintenance, complying with worldwide safety regulations for consistent performance all year long.

Ocean Theme Production

Custom shark roof toppers, seahorse climbers, wave designs and nautical interactive panels bring an underwater world to life and inspire imagination and story telling. This lively cross-over enhances play for the entire family, luring guests back for more and expanding the hotel’s allure through impressionable adventures under the ocean.

Core Ocean-Themed Multi-Level Structure

The central multi-level structure is designed around vibrant sea creatures, sheathed in towering shark fins, seahorse climbers and spiral shell roofs. Linked by enclosed tunnels, platforms and rope bridges this makes full use of the vertical space to hold large number of kids providing them with various options of exploration, climbing, sliding all within a confined space.

A Wide range of slide options

A variety of slides — tunnel, spiral, straight and wavy type, in green, blue, orange and yellow colors — allow you to have a thrilling ride at different heights. They promote speed, balance, and infinite replay at the same time they create a captivating visual movement in the underwater theme.

Climbing & Net Features
